The property la BRUNELY, bought in 1976 by the CARICHON
family, wine growers since 1730, the domaine has been
cared for and developed in a spirit of respect for the
grapes and good wine.
Our domaine stretches over 64 hectares, covering two crus
(vintages) of the Côtes du Rhône : CHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE and VACQUEYRAS, as well as two A.O.C (Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée):
CÔTES DU RHÔNE and CÔTES DU VENTOUX.

The climatisation of the wine-making and storage cellars
allows us to halve the sulphur content of our wines which,
moreover, are aged for six months in oak casks.
We
do not use any kind of weed-killer or chemical fertiliser.
Instead, we use hydraulic hoes and horse manure as well
as the burning of vine shoots.
How the vineyards are managed
-
The vine shoots are incinerated, and then the cinders are
scattered, thus providing the vineyards with the mineral
salts it requires.
- When the wine is bottled, the bottles are then kept standing
for 48 hours so as to allow the corks the time to find their
place and mould themselves perfectly to the truncated head
of the 'bourgogne bottles', following the ancient burgundy
method.
- We only use guaranteed organic compost and manure.
- When we need to cut and labour, we take care to consult
the lunar calendar, following the biodynamic methods developed
by Rudolf Steiner, so as to preserve the vine as much as
possible.
