Charles CARICHON - Propriétaire
Récoltant à Sarrians depuis 1976 - Viticulteur de père en fils depuis 1730 |
The
wine of the DOMAINE DE LA BRUNELY, located in SARRIANS, has
the appellation ('designation') 'vin des COTES DU RHONE' as
well as, due to owning vineyards in other areas, the appellations
d'origine contrôlée (registered designation of
origin) of CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE
VACQUEYRAS
COTES
DU VENTOUX.
The village of Sarrians is a typical Provençal one
and enjoys an excellent location, situated as it is between
Vacqueyras, Gigondas and Beaumes-de-Venise.
We command an unbelievable view over the “dentelles
de Montmirail” mountain range.

HISTORY
The domain's name is derived from the Brunelli family, Lords
of Chaux.
In 1420 Pelegrin de Brunelli fought to defend Pope Martin 5
against the partisans of Benoit 13, known as the 'anti-Pope'.
To thank him, the Pope named Pelegrin de Brunelli Priory Prosecutor
and Commander of the Land of Sarrians.
The Brunellis first settled at the spot now known as Le Domaine
de la Brunely, where they remained until 1739.
